Eversolo Launches Kallax-Compatible SE100 Loudspeakers

DELHI: Eversolo has unveiled its first pair of passive loudspeakers, the SE100, designed to fit IKEA Kallax shelving units. Priced at $399 per pair, they feature a unique square cabinet design and advanced audio technology for an enhanced sound experience.

MUMBAI: Eversolo has ventured beyond its well-regarded streaming amplifiers and digital-to-analog converters to introduce the SE100, marking the company’s first entry into passive loudspeakers. This innovative product is specifically engineered to integrate seamlessly within the popular IKEA Kallax shelving system, which has gained a following among minimalist design aficionados and audiophiles alike.

The SE100 features a sophisticated 2-way design that combines a 1-inch silk dome tweeter with a 5.25-inch paper-pulp mid-bass driver. The tweeter employs a neodymium magnet segment for superior performance, while the mid-bass driver is constructed with an oxygen-free copper voice coil, underscoring Eversolo’s commitment to quality materials. The company has placed significant emphasis on the natural damping properties of paper, crucial for excellent midrange reproduction, validating its choice for this driver material.

To further appeal to a broad user base, the loudspeakers boast a square cabinet form factor that deviates from traditional rectangular designs. This new configuration is crafted from high-density medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and is finished with a unique 'PU starry matte finish.' Eversolo has designed the cabinet to manage internal resonances effectively, a concern related to standing waves in audio systems. The front-ported design enhances placement flexibility, particularly for users looking to optimize their Kallax installations.

Moreover, Eversolo's BLACKEDGE CORE architecture aims to provide consistent phase and time response, which is believed to yield a flatter frequency response along with bass extension down to 50Hz. While the specifications regarding impedance and sensitivity are yet to be disclosed, industry watchers are keen to see how Eversolo’s own streaming amplifier, the PLAY, will pair with the SE100 to deliver optimal acoustic performance.

Retailing at an accessible price point of $399 in the U.S. and €399 globally, the new SE100 loudspeakers could prove to be a game-changer in the home audio space, merging affordability with advanced acoustic engineering and chic design.
