DELHI: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi late Monday night, reportedly due to respiratory discomfort linked to her bronchial asthma. Hospital sources indicate that her condition is currently stable, with physicians closely monitoring her recovery. Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of the hospital, confirmed that the exacerbation of her asthma was caused by a combination of cold weather and pollution in the capital.

Dr. Swaroop stated, "As a precautionary measure, she was admitted for further observation and treatment. At present, her condition is absolutely stable. She is responding well to treatment and is being managed with antibiotics and other supportive medications." He added that a decision regarding her discharge would depend on her clinical progress, likely expected in a day or two.
