Kalvakuntla Kavitha launches her own new political party "Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS) ' at Munnerabad in Medchal Malkajgiri district on April 25, 2026 | Photo Credit: Nagara Gopal

Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced the launch of a new political party, the Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS), echoing the original identity of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), which was rechristened from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), on April 25, 2026.

By naming her political outfit as TRS, she apparently wants to be seen as a symbolic attempt to reclaim the ideological legacy of the Telangana statehood movement.
