JAMMU: Indian security forces have launched a search operation following the detection of suspected Pakistani drones over the International Border and Line of Control. The drones were observed in multiple locations including Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch, prompting immediate action by Army troops. This incident underscores ongoing security challenges in the region.

JAMMU: Indian security forces have stepped up vigilance with the launch of a search operation after noticing multiple suspected drones emanating from the Pakistani side over key areas along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday evening. Reports indicate that these aerial objects were spotted in Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to military officials, the unidentified flying objects hovered over Indian territory for several minutes before returning to Pakistan. Troops stationed in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri responded by firing upon the drones with medium and light machine guns, aiming to deter any potential threats. Notably, one drone appeared over Gania-Kalsian village and was observed at around 6:35 PM.

The situation escalated as additional drone-like objects were sighted in other localities, including Khabbar village and Chak Babral village, raising alarms about potential implications for national security. Officials reported that another drone was detected moving from Tain to Topa in Mankote sector around 6:25 PM.

This incident follows a previous occurrence where security personnel recovered a consignment of weaponry believed to have been dropped by a drone from Pakistan. The haul, discovered in Paloora village near Samba, included two pistols, three magazines, and a grenade, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by drone activities along the border.

The recent drone sightings and the military's proactive measures underline the continual challenges faced by Indian security forces in safeguarding the border against external threats. With tensions fluctuating in the region, the ability to intercept and identify unauthorized drone activities remains critical for ensuring the safety and security of Indian territories.
