DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made headlines on Thursday with the appointment of Ashok Mittal as the new deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, a move that has sparked speculation regarding the political future of Raghav Chadha. While Chadha chose to remain silent on the matter, AAP insiders confirmed that a formal request was submitted to the Rajya Sabha secretariat to finalize Mittal's appointment. Sanjay Singh, AAP’s leader in the Rajya Sabha, addressed rumours suggesting that Chadha was sidelined and asserted that the party was not curtailing his parliamentary duties. "Raghav is a valuable member and his work has not been restricted in any way," Singh commented.

Mittal, addressing the media shortly after being named deputy leader, promised to represent both party and national interests effectively in the House. He described the reshuffle as a routine procedural change, underlining AAP's strategy of rotational leadership to empower its members. "This change reflects our commitment to a dynamic leadership structure," he emphasized.
