India Repatriates Key Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member from USA

DELHI: Aman Kumar, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has been repatriated from the United States. The Central Bureau of Investigation coordinated his return, as Kumar is wanted in several serious criminal cases. His deportation follows a Red Notice issued by INTERPOL at the request of Haryana Police.

DELHI: In a significant development in India's fight against organized crime, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) confirmed on Wednesday that Aman Kumar, also known as Aman Bhainswal, has been repatriated from the United States. This operation was facilitated in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, utilizing INTERPOL channels to ensure his return.

Aman arrived in India on January 7, following his deportation by US authorities. Once he landed at the Delhi airport, local law enforcement from Haryana Police took him into custody. The CBI has identified Aman as a critical member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, involved in serious criminal activities including murder, rioting, and conspiracy. Notably, he had faced prior arrests in India but absconded after being granted bail, leading to the issuance of a Red Notice through INTERPOL.

"Red Notices are essential tools used by INTERPOL to alert member nations about wanted fugitives," stated a CBI official. The agency expressed confidence in its coordination with international law enforcement, describing how persistent efforts led to Aman's expeditious deportation from the US. According to the CBI, over 150 fugitives have been successfully repatriated to India in recent years through similar collaborative efforts.

The return of Aman Kumar marks a significant step for Indian authorities aiming to crack down on organized crime syndicates that pose a threat to public safety. It reinforces the government's commitment to bringing criminals to justice, making it clear that there will be no refuge for those who attempt to evade the law by fleeing abroad.
