The portfolios of Ministers in the Cabinet headed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay have been announced.
A Lok Bhavan press release stated the Chief Minister had recommended to the Governor the portfolio and subject allocations for the Council of Ministers, who were sworn in along with him on May 10. The Governor has approved the recommendations.
Mr. Vijay will hold key portfolios including Home, Police, IAS and IPS, Indian Forest Service, District Revenue Officers, Special Programme Implementation, Women Welfare, Youth Welfare, Welfare of Children, Aged, and Differently-abled Persons, Municipal Administration, and Urban and Water Supply.
N. Anand, the number two in the Cabinet, will handle the portfolios of Rural Development and Water Resources.
Aadhav Arjuna has been allotted the Public Works Department (Buildings, Highways and Minor Ports) and Sports Development.
K.G. Arunraj, a former Indian Revenue Service officer, will hold the portfolios of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare.
K.A. Sengottaiyan has been allotted the Finance portfolio, while P. Venkatramanan, elected from the Mylapore constituency, has been allotted Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection and Price Control.
R. Nirmalkumar will handle Electricity and Non-Conventional Energy, Law, Courts, Prisons and Prevention of Corruption, Legislative Assembly, Governor, Elections and Passports.
