NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is making significant strides to enhance security and cleanliness ahead of the highly anticipated India AI Impact Summit, set to take place in February 2026. In a proactive move, Vice-Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal recently reviewed ongoing initiatives at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), which plays a vital role in monitoring civic services and security measures across the city.

To ensure a seamless experience during the summit, NDMC has integrated a robust network of 333 NDMC and 183 Delhi Police CCTV cameras with the ICCC, facilitating real-time surveillance. In collaboration with the Delhi Traffic Police, a dedicated traffic coordination helpline has been established to manage the expected influx of attendees. Furthermore, essential municipal vehicles such as garbage trucks and anti-smog guns are now fitted with GPS tracking technology for improved operational efficiency. NDMC has identified 99 high-footfall areas that will receive intensified sanitation services to maintain cleanliness and order during the summit.

In addition to security enhancements, the NDMC has deployed 20 air-quality sensors throughout the vicinity to monitor environmental conditions. The ICCC serves as the nerve center for addressing citizen complaints and ensuring swift resolution. As part of ongoing beautification efforts, the NDMC is set to install over 15,000 potted plants and 4,000 hanging baskets, alongside special building illuminations and upgrades on 41 major roads, reflecting a commitment to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the city in anticipation of the summit's arrival.

These forward-thinking measures aim to create a welcoming environment for international delegates and participants, showcasing India's commitment to promoting advancements in artificial intelligence. The preparations signal a shift toward more organized and cleaner urban spaces, which will benefit both residents and visitors alike.
