Hezbollah fires dozens of rockets at northern Israel; IDF strikes in Lebanon Haaretz
Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia fired dozens of rockets at northern Israel on Wednesday evening, according to the Israeli military, which reported several impacts.
Israel's Magen David Adom emergency service said a woman and a man were lightly injured.
Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 and the news outlet The Times of Israel reported that Hezbollah launched around 100 rockets.
The Times of Israel described the barrage as the “largest Hezbollah attack on Israel” since early this month, when the militia resumed rocket fire at Israel after a prolonged pause in fighting.
The renewed attacks came in response to the killing of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
The Israeli military said in the evening it had begun a new "large-scale" wave of strikes against Hezbollah targets in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The military had earlier warned residents there to evacuate.
