ABU DHABI: India has issued a crucial advisory for its citizens stranded at airports in the United Arab Emirates as tensions escalate in the Middle East following military strikes involving the US, Israel, and Iran. The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi confirmed on Saturday that it is actively working with UAE authorities to facilitate support for affected Indian passengers.

In the advisory, the embassy stated, “The Embassy and Consulate are in touch with the UAE authorities and airlines for taking care of the Indian passengers stranded at the airports in UAE due to temporary and precautionary airspace closure.” This comes as airliners have suspended flights to and from the region, leaving many travelers in limbo.

Flights were halted after Iranian retaliatory strikes targeted various US bases, causing alarm throughout the region, including in Dubai and other nearby cities. Reports indicate that explosions have been heard in the UAE, with critical air travel infrastructure under pressure. Many passengers, such as Sanjeev Mehta, an Indian national who traveled to Abu Dhabi for a social event, expressed their frustrations. “We are stuck here at the airport. Many alarms went off, and the news reports indicate missiles have landed nearby,” he relayed to the press.

The UAE government, along with airline authorities, has assured the Indian government of their full support during these challenging circumstances. The situation remains tense as the airspace over the Middle East continues to face closures, leaving stranded passengers anxious about their safety and travel plans. This advisory not only underscores the risks associated with international travel during times of conflict but also highlights the swift response of the Indian government in crisis management.
